Relay Criteria

Required Weekly Test

An automated Required Weekly Test will be sent on KEVN every Friday at 1 PM Mountain Time to ensure that equipment is in perfect working order.

National IPAWS CAP Alerts

All Events for all Location in the United States and its Territories will be relayed immediately. Pretty simple huh?

Local Weather Alerts

Alerts are relayed immediately for counties served by WXK68. All Events included including the RWT and any CAP Alerts (Ada County, Idaho) sent over NWR.

Non-Local Weather Alerts

Any Non-Local WX Alerts will be sent as well. Expect alerts from other locations during severe weather events. All Events included. We can cover up to 11 areas at a time for the time being as this is mostly human monitored. Sometimes we won’t be able to cover Severe Weather Alerts if monitors are not changed. These are AM/FM online streams or NOAA Weather Radio streams online.

Non-CAP EAS Alerts

Occasionally I might monitor a station (mainly for RWT Logging and RMTs not sent through CAP, any Locations STILL using Daisy Chains) or any special tests/drills.

System Tests (DMOs)

In the event that maintenance, station audits or some kind of new implementation to the setup, a Practice Test Message will be sent. Station participants will be notified in advance in the event of practice testing and will not be required to relay the test on their stream.

Additional Information

All alerts sent on KEVN are 100% real and from official sources! Nothing fake and no spam alerts. You can monitor us with ease knowing you’ll be provided with official EAS Alerts for your Equipment/Station. In a sense, yes, we relay “Anything and Everything” . Keep in mind this is done for fun and as a hobby. We are not an official alerting authority.
